The artist, Dominika Schmid, was born in Poland and studied art history
at Jagiellonian University. She moved to the United States in 1992. She
then began making these unique origami mobiles as gifts for friend's children.
Her mobiles were so well-received that her friends soon convinced her
to start her own business selling the mobiles. When she left her computer
graphics career to become a stay-at-home mom, the time seemed right and
Yash Mobiles was born.
Each of these whimsical origami mobiles is hand-crafted from origami paper
and suspended from natural wood. They can be custom designed to satisfy
every taste. Babies love to follow their peaceful movement with their
eyes and adults find their graceful motion very relaxing and a good stress
reliever.
The crane is a symbol for long life and fidelity, making these mobiles
perfect gifts for baby showers and weddings. The smaller mobiles make
great party favors, alternative greeting cards and an original hostess
gift.
